Greg Thompson - Kentucky

We always tell clients: the backcountry is not the place to get drunk. That didn’t stop Greg. He packed more whiskey than gear and spent the first two nights in camp downing it like water.

By the third morning, he was too hungover to hike out to the hunting spot. When we finally got him moving, he scared off an entire herd because he was too loud, and later, he got belligerent when we called him out for mishandling his weapon. After a final night of drinking, he packed up and left early, calling the trip a “rip-off.” The only thing ripped off was the label on his last bottle of whiskey.
